Lera Boroditsky raises an interesting question
There isn’t just one language that we all speak, there are about 7000 languages spoken in the world. They all have different structures, different vocabulary and different kinds of grammar. Lera Boroditsky asks the question: “does language shape the way that we think?” She brings up some interesting examples of how a language can influence our thinking process and our way of living.
This Ted Talk gives a nice view of the beauty of linguistic diversity and gives us a look into the flexibility and ingenious way that the human brain works. Definitely worth checking out!
